First ATV
Caden got his first 4-wheeler yesterday for being so good at the pageant. He loves it! His legs are a little too short yet but he'll grow into it.
NIBROC Pageant
Caden was in his first pageant yesterday. NIBROC (Corbin spelled backwards) is a town festival every year. They have a pageant and the winners get to be in the parade. Against my better judgment I entered Caden. We had a lot of fun and he did a good job. He was the most well behaved baby. He never cried or threw a fit. He smiled and waved at the judges. He won best smile. We didn't win the whole thing but he had fun and did his best. He will be in the parade anyway riding in the fire truck.

3 Month Pictures
They have finally arrived!!!! Harold picked up Caden's 3 month pictures today from Olan Mills. They were supposed to come in yesterday, but something happened with the shipment. We got two free photo albums out of it, so I guess it was worth it. Here is a taste of the pictures that we picked out......

Week In Review
It has been an interesting week around our house. I worked a lot of shifts this past week, so I had work drama and home drama going on at the same time. On Thursday evening we were given Caden his bath just like normal until we couldn't get the cold water to shut off in the bathtub. Turned out that the cold water faucet was stripped and old, so Harold Ray had to turn off the water to the whole house. It was too late to get any parts so we spent the rest of the evening with no water. I, of course, had to work the next day so he was left at home to fix the tub. Turned out to be a bigger project than expected. Finally after about 12 hours of repair work the tub was fixed! We now have a whole new faucet system on our bathtub. It looks nice, but not quite the way I wanted to get it. Oh well, at least we get the money back for the repairs on our rent.
It was an exciting weekend at work. We had a lot of VERY sick patients along with the coughs, colds and broken bones. I had my first opportunity to take care of a patient having an acute heart attack by myself. SCARY!! I'm not sure that I'm ready to do it again for awhile, but it was a good learning experience.
Sunday was a beautiful day here in southeastern Kentucky. It was 65 degrees outside!!!! We went out to dinner and went bowling with our good friend Stevie Douglas. We had a really good time. I haven't been bowling since my bachelorette party and trust me, I'm no better at it now than I was then.
Caden has learned a new trick. He can now rollover from his tummy to his back. He did it twice today. I'm going to try to get it on video and then I will post it here. He is becoming more and more active everyday and definitely has his own personality. We get to pick up his 3-month pictures tomorrow and I can't wait to see them.
We have decided that each month we are going to pick a room of our house and spruce it up a little and add decorations. This month we are working on our front entry way. We are putting curtains up over our big glass front doors. They let in a lot of cold air, so it will help block that. Plus anyway who drives by can look right in our doors. I'm not a big fan of that. Becky helped me pick them out and they are very pretty. I will post a picture later on after Harold Ray hangs them up.
All in all, an exciting week....more than we bargained for.

Baby Catch-up
I probably should have started this blog 3 months ago when Caden was first born, but since I didn't, here is a little catch-up on his last 3 months. Caden was born on 11/2 after 60 (yes, 60) hours of labor. I had to have a C-section because the kid just didn't want to come out and was causing all kinds of problems.
He is an excellent baby. He doesn't cry or complain and he is usually happy all the time. He spent his first month in Michigan to meet all the Michigan family. He got to attend his first arena race and watch Grandpa get a trophy.
He had his first Thanksgiving and Christmas and pretty much slept through both of them. He survived his 2-month shots with no difficulty and I survived them too.
Our only bump in the road was that Caden got RSV in the middle of January. He was a sick little guy for about a week and a half. We went to the doctor's office everyday for about a week, but we survived.
We also took a family trip to New Orleans at the end of January for a friend's wedding. It was our first big trip with Caden since we got back from Michigan. We drove at night so he slept the whole way and he was no problem. We had a great time. We stayed in the French Quarter and saw many sites. We took a history tour of the cemeteries. In NOLA they bury their dead above ground, so there were a lot of cool tombs to look at. We walked along the Mississippi River and visited an aquarium. That was Caden's favorite part. He loved to watch the fish swimming around and had lunch with the penguins (which are his favorite animal). Finding Nemo is his favorite movie and we got to see a fish that looked just like Dorie. We walked on Bourbon Street and watched the first Mardi Gras parade of the year. It was an excellent family vacation and we can't wait to go back.
Caden can hold his head up on his own now. He is trying to roll over but hasn't quite made it yet. His 4 month check is next month....
